AutoBot · Path of Exile · unattended

Runs maps while you are not at the keyboard.

FollowBot needs you to be playing. AutoBot does not. It picks a map, rolls it, loads the device, runs it, loots what your filter shows, stashes, and starts the next one — on the settings you leave it with.

Path of Exile 3.29 ✓ Windows 10 / 11 FollowApp, build A checkbox in the FollowApp window

AutoBot runs Path of Exile only; it does not run Path of Exile 2. It is not a separate download — it is the Autobot checkbox in the FollowApp window and the options behind it, using the same profile, keybinds and loot filter setup as FollowBot.

What it does

The loop at the top of this page is the whole product. Every setting on this page is a knob on one of its eight steps. Everything lives in AutoBot Options, reachable from the main window or as a side panel inside the HUD.

Not a separate download

The Autobot checkbox in the FollowApp window enables unattended mapping for the selected profile. Same profile, same keybinds, same loot filter setup as FollowBot. If FollowBot is already configured, most of AutoBot's setup is done.

Path of Exile only

AutoBot runs Path of Exile 3.29. It does not run Path of Exile 2. If Path of Exile 2 mapping is what you are buying for, AutoBot is not it — FollowBot and CraftBot do run both games.

Your filter decides the loot

Step 6 picks up what your loot filter leaves visible, nothing else. A strict filter is the difference between a stash of currency and a stash of vendor trash.

More exposure than attended play

AutoBot automates the game while you are asleep. That is more exposure than automation you are sitting in front of.

Map selection

Step 1 and step 3. Which map it reaches for, and what a good enough roll looks like.

SettingWhat it does
Ideal tier:The map tier to aim for.
Run T17sWhether tier 17 maps are eligible.
Atlas completion firstPrefer maps that complete the Atlas over the ideal tier.
Min quant % / rarity % / pack %Minimum rolled modifiers before a map is good enough to run.
Roll regex:Everything the three percentages cannot express, including modifiers you refuse to run. A roll that fails the regex is rerolled.

Map crafting

Step 2. Where the maps come from, what gets done to them before they are judged, and which device option to set.

SettingWhat it does
Craft maps from tabs:Enable crafting, and the stash tab indexes to pull maps from. Comma separated and zero-based — the leftmost tab is 0.
ChiselQuality the map before rolling.
VaalCorrupt after rolling.
Device option:The map device crafting option. 20 choices:
  • Don't set
  • Fortune Favours the Brave
  • Ambush
  • Blight
  • Domination
  • Harbinger
  • Settlers
  • Beyond
  • Essence
  • Torment
  • Ultimatum
  • Expedition
  • Ritual
  • Abyss
  • Heist
  • Anarchy
  • Breach
  • Delirium
  • Harvest
  • Legion

Map device slots

Step 4. Six rows, each with a type and a name. Slot 1 is the map to run; the rest take scarabs, currency and fragments.

SlotTypeName
1MapCrimson Temple
2ScarabTitanic Scarab
3ScarabHarbinger Scarab
4ScarabScarab of Hunted Traitors typed, not in the list
5FragmentSacrifice at Dusk
6(empty)
Type is (empty), Map, Scarab, Currency or Fragment. The map and scarab pickers filter as you type, and the name combos are editable: any name can be typed. Row 4 is a typed name.

The list does not have this league's items? Replace the list.

The built-in lists ship with 30 maps and 58 scarabs. When a league adds something they have not heard of, you do not wait for an update: put Crafts\NavMapList.txt or Crafts\NavScarabList.txt next to the executable, one name per line, UTF-8. The file replaces the built-in list the next time AutoBot reads it — no client update.

Crafts\NavScarabList.txt
Titanic Scarab
Harbinger Scarab
Scarab of Hunted Traitors
Anarchy Scarab
… one UTF-8 name per line

Or just type the name into the row. Both work; the file is for when you want the whole list right, every time you open the options.

Exploration

Step 5 and step 7. How far it looks ahead, when it fights, and how it gets out.

SettingWhat it does
Portal key:The key your portal is on.
Portal at:Where to portal out — Start or End.
Reveal dist:How far ahead it explores.
Attack dist:The range at which it engages monsters.
Wait ms:Navigation pacing.
Tag entrancesMark zone entrances while exploring.
Wait for Nameless SeerStop and wait when the Seer appears.

Materials & stash

Where the currency comes from and where the loot goes.

SettingWhat it does
Tabs:The stash tab indexes holding your crafting materials. Zero-based, like the map tabs.
Guild stashPull from the guild stash instead.
Delay ms:The pause between stash interactions. Raise it if stash operations fail on a slow connection.

League mechanics

A checklist of 13. Checked means engage; unchecked means walk past.

  • Delirium Mirror
  • Abyss
  • Breach
  • Delve Sulphite
  • Essence
  • Heist Smuggler Cache
  • Legion
  • Settlers Ore
  • Shrine
  • Strongbox
  • Nameless Seer
  • Reflecting Mist
  • All-Flame Chests

Turn off what your build can't handle before you leave it running.

A character that clears maps comfortably can still die to a mechanic it is not built for. Legion and Reflecting Mist above are unticked for exactly that reason; yours may differ.

Eldritch altars

Whether it takes altars at all, which side it prefers, and lists of modifiers it will and will not accept.

SettingWhat it does
Use altarsOn or off.
Favor:Top, Bottom or Only whitelist.
Lists...A dialog holding an ordered whitelist and a blacklist of altar modifiers. The whitelist order is the preference order.

Altars are the most common cause of unattended deaths.

The downside modifier applies to the whole map. If you are new to running AutoBot unattended, start with Use altars off, then build the blacklist from what kills you.

Aurabot

For a mapper with a supporting character in tow: wait for it rather than leave its auras behind.

SettingWhat it does
Name:The supporting character to wait for. Blank disables monitoring.
Dist:How far it may get ahead before it waits.
Wait s:How long it waits.

The HUD

A separate window showing what AutoBot is doing and why. Open it with AutoBot HUD in the main window — it opens whether or not AutoBot is running. Four panes and the options beside them.

Banner

Current zone, connection state, uptime, and how much of the map is revealed.

Status

Connection and slot, character vitals, and the live job stack it is working through.

Map

A live map with markers for monsters, loot, objectives, portals, entrances, gravestones, shrines, chests, the current navigation target and dead zones. Pan, zoom, rotation, isometric squash, follow mode, a legend and the reveal distance — all remembered between sessions.

Thinking

The decision trace, filterable by category chip: JOB, NAV, MAP, CBT, ZONE, LOG. Automation that has stopped and automation that is waiting for something look identical from across the room, and they are fixed in completely different ways. The Thinking pane tells you which one you are looking at.

Options side panel

The full AutoBot Options set embedded as a scrolling column. Same controls, no second window — change a setting and watch the trace react.

Themes and geometry

Shares its theme system with the CraftBot window. Pane sizes and positions are kept in Crafts\AutoBotHUD.cfg.

Recordings

With the HUD enabled, each map run is recorded under Crafts\Recordings next to the executable, for playback and diagnosis. The HUD must be open for a recording to be saved.

Use it while you are setting up. Once the trace reads the way you expect for a few maps, you can close it; AutoBot does not need it open to run, but no recording is saved while it is closed.

What it does not do

  • It does not run Path of Exile 2. AutoBot is Path of Exile 3.29 only. FollowBot and CraftBot run both games; AutoBot does not.
  • It does not make unattended play safe. It automates the game while you are asleep, which is more exposure than automation you sit in front of. before you buy, and do not run it on an account you would be upset to lose.
  • It does not pick loot for you. It picks up what your loot filter leaves visible. No filter, or a loose one, and it will fill your stash with what the filter shows.
  • It is not a separate download. One client, one key. If the Autobot checkbox is greyed out, the plan is not on your subscription — it is not a broken download.
  • It is one instance. The AutoBot & CraftBot plan is one concurrent instance, monthly only. It pools on the same key as any FollowBot plan you hold.
  • The free trial does not include it. The 1-day trial is FollowBot, three instances.

Questions

Does AutoBot work on Path of Exile 2?

No. AutoBot runs Path of Exile only. If you are buying for unattended Path of Exile 2 mapping, this is not the product. FollowBot and CraftBot do run Path of Exile 2, and the External Overlay attaches to either game.

Path of Exile 2 changes substantially between patches, and so does what the software has to do to keep working. Check the changelog for the current state rather than assuming.

Is AutoBot a separate download?

No. One download, one application. FollowBot, AutoBot and CraftBot are the same executable; your subscription decides which will load. AutoBot is the Autobot checkbox in the FollowApp window and the options behind it. The External Overlay is in the same download too, behind the Overlay button.

If the checkbox is greyed out or refuses to load, it is not on your subscription. It is not a broken download.

The map or scarab list does not have this league's items. Do I wait for an update?

No. Two ways around it. The name fields in the map device rows are editable — type any name. Or replace the whole list: put Crafts\NavMapList.txt or Crafts\NavScarabList.txt next to the executable, one name per line, UTF-8, and the file replaces the built-in list without a client update.

It keeps dying when I leave it alone. Where do I start?

Altars first: they are the most common cause of unattended deaths, because the downside modifier applies to the whole map. Set Use altars off, or Favor: to Only whitelist with a short whitelist. Then the league mechanics checklist: untick anything your build cannot handle. Then the Roll regex: for the map modifiers you refuse to run.

Open the HUD while you tune it. The Thinking pane's CBT and JOB lines show what it was doing in the seconds before each death.

What is the difference between FollowBot and AutoBot?

FollowBot follows the character you are playing — you have to be at the keyboard. AutoBot runs maps on its own: it picks, rolls, loads, runs, loots and stashes without you. They share the same client, profile, keybinds and loot filter setup; the plans are separate. FollowBot is $10 to $30 a month by instance count; AutoBot & CraftBot is $30 a month, one instance, monthly only.

What does the HUD add if AutoBot runs without it?

Diagnosis. The Banner and Status panes tell you where it is and how it is doing; the Map shows what it can see and where it is going; the Thinking pane shows why. Automation that has stopped and automation that is waiting for something look identical from across the room. The Thinking pane is how you tell them apart — and the Options side panel lets you fix it without opening a second window.

It also records: with the HUD enabled, each map run is saved under Crafts\Recordings next to the executable for playback and diagnosis. The HUD must be open for a recording to be saved.
