Last updated: Owner decision required: date of publication
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It sets out what you may not do with the Service, this website and the community.
There is an obvious tension in a product like this having rules about conduct, and it is worth naming rather than pretending otherwise. The software breaches a game publisher’s terms — that is what it is for, and you decided to accept that risk. This policy is not about that. It is about not harming other people, not harming other customers, and not doing things that are illegal in the ordinary world rather than against a game’s rules.
1 · The Service
You must not:
- Share, resell, sublicense or redistribute your licence or the software. If you want to give someone access, a grant can be split into its own licence with its own key — that is supported and it is the right way to do it.
- Circumvent licensing or authentication. Cracking, patching, key generation, protocol emulation, sharing credentials to exceed your instance count, or falsifying the machine identifier the software sends to us when it signs in.
- Reverse engineer the software or its network protocol, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Attack the infrastructure. No unauthorised access attempts, no vulnerability scanning without written permission, no denial of service, no automated scraping of the site or the API beyond ordinary use, and no deliberate attempts to exhaust the assistant’s capacity.
- Attack other customers. Deliberately locking out another customer’s account, interfering with their sessions, or attempting to use their credentials.
- Automate abuse of other players. The Service exists to automate your own gameplay. Using it to harass, follow, grief or target other players in the game is not what it is for.
If you find a security vulnerability, report it. Reports made in good faith, without exploiting the issue and without accessing anyone else’s data, are welcome and will not be treated as a breach of this policy.
Owner decision required: whether to publish a vulnerability disclosure process
A formal process with a contact address and a safe-harbour statement. A defined channel is worth more than the sentence above.
2 · Payment
You must not:
- pay with a payment method you are not authorised to use
- submit a transaction reference that is not yours or that has already been used
- initiate a chargeback or dispute without first contacting support
- attempt to obtain a subscription without paying for it, including by exploiting a defect in checkout
If you find a way to obtain a subscription without paying, report it. It will be treated as a security report, not as an offence, provided you do not use it.
3 · The community
In the Discord community and anywhere else we host discussion:
- No harassment, threats, hate speech or personal attacks.
- No sexual content involving minors, and no content that is illegal where it is posted or where it is hosted.
- No doxxing. Do not post anyone’s personal information, including other customers’ account names, transaction identifiers or hardware identifiers.
- No malware, no phishing, no links posing as official downloads. The software is only ever downloaded from this site.
- No advertising or recruitment for competing products or services.
- No impersonating staff.
A note aimed at everyone rather than at rule-breakers: the community is international and most people in it are writing in a second language. Do not mock anyone’s English. It is the fastest way to make a support channel useless to the people who need it most.
Discord’s own terms and community guidelines apply in addition to these.
4 · Support
- One issue, one ticket. Do not open several tickets for the same problem.
- Do not abuse support staff or the assistant.
- Do not put credentials, payment card details or other people’s personal information into a ticket or into the assistant. Support does not need them and storing them helps nobody.
5 · Enforcement
Depending on severity we may: warn you, restrict a feature, suspend access, terminate your subscription without refund, remove you from the community, or report the matter to law enforcement.
We will generally warn first for something minor and act immediately for anything that harms another person, another customer or the service itself.
Owner decision required: forfeiture of unused time, and whether an appeal route exists
Whether termination forfeits unused subscription time in all cases or only for defined categories, and whether an appeal route exists and how it is described. A stated appeal route reduces disputes; an unstated one produces chargebacks.
6 · Reporting
To report a breach of this policy — including abuse in the community or a security issue — contact:
Owner decision required: a reporting address, distinct from general support
Abuse reports and security reports should not arrive in the same queue as “my key does not work”.
7 · Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this website and in the Discord community.
