  • Getting Started / Guidance

    Good Evening!

So I am generally new to PoE, started a little late in current league. I am enjoying the game very much, but looking for that edge. Currently find myself solo a lot of the time and figured it would be massive to have an aurabot of sorts supporting my TS. I stumbled upon this little gem.

I do have a few questions,
The obvious, what's the ban rate? Risks involved and how would you best mitigate.
I would like to utilize just one machine, have about 64gb of some TridentZNeo C16@ 3600, and a Ryzen 9 5900 with a 3090, so I am assuming that I wouldn't have issues if I wanted to run a full group.
But how would one initially just set up one additional instance of PoE and utilize this. (I am computer literate for the most part)
I have yet to buy a Subscription as I would like to cover my basses first to ensure it's a good fit, but from the little i was reading it looks like a great product. I can't imagine the amount of work that was put into this.

Any help and guidance would be awesome! If it makes it easier so I am able to communicate while away from computer or not have the forums up, welcome to hit me up on discord @ sacrificeammo

    Again thank you in advance!!

Hey thanks for reaching out and welcome to Path of Exile! It's truly a great game and even though I've been playing 5+ years I'm still learning stuff all the time, so take your time and enjoy the process!

The best way to mitigate risk is to never sign into your bot accounts from the machine you run your main account on. A great way todo with is to setup a Virtual-Machine, I'd recommend VMWare, but there is a decent VM that ships with Windows 11 Pro called Hyper-V. Both have a bit of a learning curve but there are plenty of resources available on how to setup your first virtual machine on the internet. I'd also recommend using a VPN inside of that virtual machine so the machine has a different IP than the one you are running your main account on. Only drawback of using VM's is they dont do great at utilizing GPUs, so software like poeNullEffects can be a great way to reduce GPU load inside those virtual machines.

You can also run FollowBot on older machines / laptops you have access to, that can be a easy way to get a full party going quickly.

With that system you can definitely setup a few VM's with POE running.

But how would one initially just set up one additional instance of PoE and utilize this.
I would start with one instance, download VMWare and install windows 10 or 11 on it, then get POE & see how the preformance is. If its not running great then give poeNullEffects a try.

You'll want to learn about Aurabots & Party Compositions to get the most out of FollowBot, I'd recommend starting with @Haloplasm on youtube and check out his 3.23 aurabot guide, then check out @snapow's party composition guides.

If you have any more questions drop them below and I'll be happy to answer them!

Are there any VPNs you recommend? Preferably free lol, I know it’s hard to come by these days. I am currently reading up on VMware while hanging out with the wife.

For free no, I use and like PrivateInternetAccess a lot though.

Awesome!! They had a pretty good deal going on for the Super Bowl! Got 3 years and 3 months for like $80

I have noticed with utilities like this that there are not a lot of videos going into detail for them, how to set them up and such. Which in many cases would make others wary of purchasing. Would be cool to see more than a couple minutes of clips/highlights.

That's a great deal. They also have a phone app so you can put all your devices behind their service.

Our video editor Vladomen has been working hard on a video/demo of FollowBot, we hope to have it out within a week or 2.

It makes a massive difference, I went from a pretty mediocre 3k-4k average wisp count to well over 8k. It's turning out great and already has a lot of additional features from when the beta was initially release. Full release on that should definitely be sometime next week.

                      Okay awesome!
I would like to ask how well it works as a Full Aura Bot? assuming you are able to configure things to be near as good as another person playing the aurabot ?

So for Folder sharing is that recommended? If so how do you get that set up, been messing with it for a while and not able to access PoE or PIA within virtual machine. Or am i just going to have to download everything within the virtual machine ?

It works amazing with an aurabot. FollowBot is programmed to simulate any character, some people enjoy playing as an aurabot and have FollowBot simulate playing the carry, others like doing the opposite and play the carry and have FollowBot simulate playing the aurabot. The bot is highly customizable & profiles can be created to play & follow you with any character. Also if you're having trouble creating a perfect profile for that character you are trying to use FollowBot with I'm happy to hop on Parsec and make a custom profile for you.

If you're using VMWare install VMTools and that allows you to drag and drop & copy/paste to and from your VM.
